STAMFORD, Conn. – August 12, 2026 – This week on Golf Channel, the PGA TOUR’s FedExCup Playoffs begin with the top 70 players competing in the FedEx St. Jude Championship, headlined by World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler and World No. 2 Rory McIlroy.

PGA TOUR – FEDEX ST. JUDE CHAMPIONSHIP
The FedEx St. Jude Championship marks the beginning of the PGA TOUR’s FedExCup Playoffs, with the top 70 players in the FedExCup standings earning a spot in this no-cut, 72-hole event. The winner of the FedEx St. Jude Championship will take home 750 FedExCup points and the $3.6 million first-place check from the $20 million purse, and the top 50 players in the standings following the event will advance to compete in next week’s BMW Championship.
World No.1 Scottie Scheffler and World No. 2 Rory McIlroy headline the field, along with defending champion Justin Rose, who defeated J.J. Spaun in a playoff on his way to victory at TPC Southwind last year.
Entering the FedEx St. Jude Championship, PGA TOUR winner Maverick McNealy holds the 50th spot in the FedExCup standings, with other notable names in the top 50 bubble including last weekend’s Wyndham Championship winner Michael Brennan (47), TOUR winner Keith Mitchell (49), five-time TOUR winner Harris English (51), six-time TOUR winner Max Homa (52[EC1] ) and three-time major winner Jordan Spieth (54).
