(NEW YORK – May 27, 2026) – On Tuesday, June 2, MS NOW will feature special all-day on-the-ground and primetime coverage along with real-time results and analysis of the closely watched primary elections in California, Iowa, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, and South Dakota.

Across these states, the June 2 primary elections will mark a pivotal point in the 2026 cycle, offering a key measure of voter enthusiasm, party momentum, and the issues driving Americans ahead of November. 

From high-profile gubernatorial and congressional contests to local races that will shape policy debates in battleground communities, the outcomes will provide critical insight into the direction of both parties, the strength of emerging coalitions, and the political environment taking shape nationally.  

  • Beginning at 10 p.m. ET, Rachel Maddow will lead primetime coverage and be joined by Jen PsakiChris HayesSymone Sanders TownsendAlicia MenendezMichael Steele, Lawrence O’Donnell, and Stephanie Ruhle
  • Throughout the evening, MS NOW anchor and chief data reporter Ali Velshi will helm the big board, providing real-time results and expert analysis of the outcomes of the night's key races. 
  • Katy Tur will take over late-night coverage, providing updates and ongoing analysis of the results from across the primary states into the early morning hours.
  • In the run-up to and during MS NOW’s primetime coverage, reporters will join special coverage throughout the day and evening from key primary states with the latest on-the-ground reporting, including Jacob Soboroff, David Noriega, and Jillian Frankel in California, and Alex Tabet in Iowa.
  • Morning Joe and Way Too Early with Ali Vitali will kick off the day with the latest on the various races ahead of the evening. On Wednesday morning, both programs will break down Tuesday night’s results, featuring the latest reporting and analysis.
  • ms.now will feature a live blog with the latest race projections, breaking news, election results, and reporting from MS NOW’s reporting teams.
