(NEW YORK – Aug. 3, 2026) – One week from today, on Monday, Aug. 10, Peter Alexander will debut ‘State of Play with Peter Alexander’ on MS NOW, airing weekdays at 11 a.m. ET. He will also serve as the network’s Chief National Reporter and a Breaking News Anchor, bringing one of the most accomplished and respected careers in Washington journalism to MS NOW at a pivotal moment for the country.
Based in Washington, D.C., ‘State of Play with Peter Alexander’ will provide viewers with authoritative reporting, thoughtful conversations, and in-depth analysis of the biggest political and national stories shaping the day. Built around Alexander’s trusted reporting, deep experience covering Washington, and unmatched relationships across government and beyond, the program will help audiences better understand not just what is happening, but why it matters.
Alexander joined MS NOW after more than two decades at NBC News, where he established himself as one of Washington’s most respected journalists. Throughout his career, he has covered every major story from the White House, reported on presidential campaigns across the country, and questioned presidents, world leaders, lawmakers, and other influential newsmakers. Peter is a recipient of the Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Political Journalism and has been honored with prestigious Edward R. Murrow and Emmy Awards.
His arrival marks another major milestone in MS NOW's continued investment in trusted journalism. Alexander joins a rapidly growing, award-winning newsgathering operation and a dedicated Washington Bureau built to power all of MS NOW's programming.
