LOS ANGELES, CA (July 1, 2025) – Rotten Tomatoes, the world’s most trusted source for entertainment reviews and recommendations, today announced that the new Rotten Tomatoes mobile app is now available to download for free on the iOS App Store and pre-order on the Google Play Store. The new app delivers a fresh, mobile-first experience for movie and TV lovers, combining the platform’s most beloved recommendation features with new tools for deeper personalization, social engagement and smarter discovery.

“After more than 25 years of helping fans decide what to watch, we’re excited to take that connection even further,” said Amanda Norvell, SVP of Direct-to-Consumer Services at Fandango. “This app is all about making it easier—and more fun—for people to discover content they love, track what they want to watch, dive deeper into their favorite movies and shows, and connect with other fans, friends, critics and influencers along the way.”

“Today is just the beginning of the journey,” Norvell adds. “We look forward to introducing new features and functionality for critics, fans, influencers, talent, and studios in the months to come, as we build on this exciting new discovery and recommendations platform for entertainment lovers.”

The Rotten Tomatoes app brings everything fans know and love, from thousands of movie and TV discovery pages, Tomatometer and Popcornmeter scores, critic and audience reviews, celebrity interviews, trailers, entertainment news and more, all wrapped into an intuitive, mobile-friendly format for today’s on-the-go entertainment seekers. The app also creates a space for fans to curate personal watchlists, leave ratings and reviews, and share their favorites, while following other trusted voices on their social feed. Fans can playfully let their voices be heard by posting Tomojis, Rotten Tomatoes’ new take on popular reactive icons.

The app will also introduce aRTi (currently in beta), Rotten Tomatoes’ official AI assistant, that will serve as a trusted guide to find movie and TV scores, see where content is streaming or available for purchase, with personalized recommendations based on interest to follow. The new app launch marks an exciting new chapter in how fans can engage with entertainment content on Rotten Tomatoes – and this is just the beginning. Upcoming features planned for the app include personalized recommendations based on follows, video reactions, reviews, and more, as well as elevated reviewer profiles for Rotten Tomatoes’ most engaged users.

Rotten Tomatoes has been the cornerstone of entertainment discovery and recommendation for over 25 years, attracting 35MM monthly unique visitors and connecting them to the films and television shows they adore. With the new app, Rotten Tomatoes continues to evolve, deepening its commitment to serving fans with access to first look entertainment previews, trailers, behind-the-scenes exclusives, and original editorial features designed to guide and inspire entertainment discovery.

The new app launch comes on the heels of last year’s introduction of “Verified Hot,” an elevated designation and badge awarded to theatrical films that achieve a Verified Audience Score of 90% or higher on the Popcornmeter and meet other eligibility requirements. To date, more than 270 films have received the celebrated “Verified Hot” honor.

The new Rotten Tomatoes app is available now to download on the iOS App Store and pre-order on the Google Play Store. Additionally, the first-ever Rotten Tomatoes advertising spot highlighting the app is now airing across linear, digital, social, cinema, and more. Click HERE to check out the spot.
